May the 4th is here! It’s that special time of year where we all gather together to celebrate Star Wars! It’s a big year for Star Wars fans, with the release of The Force Awakens and the upcoming Rogue One. Needless to say, it’s a good time to be a Star Wars fan! Let’s take a closer look at some cool stuff we’ve got in-store to help with the celebration of your favourite franchise.
With summer approaching, we couldn’t wait to pick our favourite books (hello beach reads!). We’ve chosen memoirs, non-fiction books, and novels that will make you laugh, cry, and want to be a better version of yourself. Don’t forget – summer reading is best served poolside, with a cold iced tea.
Greetings gamers and welcome to May! This month has nine new games for you to play, including the return of some classics, a reboot or two, some sequels, and some entirely new games! Let’s take a closer look at what’s in store.
A catastrophe has befallen the galaxy! All the habitable systems have been destroyed save one, Solus, the last star. All the races and people of the galaxy have fled there, including the bad guys, and now it’s up to you, the Battleborn to stop them from destroying Solus too! Gearbox software, makers of the highly successful Borderlands series have developed Battleborn, an online first person shooter and far flung space fantasy. At release the game will feature 25 playable characters each with their own unique abilities and weapons, and their own unique skill tree to unlock.
Battleborn will be available on May 3rd on PlayStation 4, XBOX One, and Windows, and you can pre-order your copy today!
The winners are in! The MSI Dragon Cup V3 Hearthstone Tournament was held on April 9th and 10th pitting players from all around the continent against one another. This year we had over 100,000 players registered and the tournament was watched by over 34,000 people!
The matches were exciting, and there was one EPIC match featuring some of the craziest, weirdest plays seen in a tournament.
Jean-Francois T, aka Walf#1592 placed 4th overall and was the 3rd highest ranked Canadian which means he took home a $200 London Drugs gift card to use on LondonDrugs.com.
Mathieu B, aka Doctueur#1458 placed 3rd overall, taking home $200 cash and an MSI gaming keyboard. He was also the 2nd highest ranked Canadian and received a $300 London Drugs gift card to use on our website.
Justin D, aka Luffy#1586 placed 2nd overall and took home $300 cash and an MSI gaming motherboard. That’s not all though, Justin was the highest ranked Canadian meaning he also took home a $500 London Drugs Gift card!
The grand champion of the tournament is Robert M, aka Nostam#1965. Robert is taking home a $500 cash and a sweet MSI GTX 960 2G graphics card, and he also earned a spot in the Enthusiast Gaming Live Expo Hearthstone Tournament being held in Toronto this coming weekend, and a chance to take home a part of that tournaments prize pool of $10,000!

Following a successful pilot and first ever oral cancer screening in pharmacy in 2015, London Drugs is committed to bringing the clinics to more locations and will be offering oral health screening clinics at 15 locations in Metro Vancouver between April 25 and May 18, 2016.
“What began as a three clinic trial with a dental professional in collaboration with our pharmacists in April 2015, quickly grew to 12 clinics in a matter of weeks, during our first ever attempt at this program,” explains John Tse, Vice President Pharmacy, London Drugs. “There is clearly demand for the oral screening and continued need for awareness of oral cancer and oral cancer prevention.”
Oral cancer is the sixth most common cancer in the world with approximately three people dying of oral cancer every day in Canada. Early detection is crucial. Most oral cancers are diagnosed late when the survival rate is poor.
