London Drugs customers have generously donated more than $45,000 towards the Red Cross Typhoon Haiyan Fund through cashier tills at all of our 78 store locations.
The Canadian Red Cross field hospital and staff are set up in the heavily damaged island of Leyte working to ensure essential health needs of more than 100,000 people are met. This includes surgical, pharmacy, maternity, pediatric services and psychosocial support.
As we read in this latest dispatch, the field hospital remains at 100% capacity, and “if it was easy, someone else would have done it.”
The Government of Canada has extended its program to match dollar-for-dollar eligible donations by individuals until December 23rd, 2013. London Drugs will continue accepting at-till donations for the Red Cross relief efforts at all 78 London Drugs stores.
