  • 5:30 p.m. – Conclusion of Ride for Hope in Memorial Park in Hope, B.C. 


ABBOTSFORD, B.C., July 9, 2012 – On July 11th, 2012 a team of 50 cyclists including Canucks Alumni will Ride For Hope.  The sixth annual Ride for Hope will stretch over 200 kilometres, beginning at the Morgan Crossing London Drugs in South Surrey at 8:30 a.m. and finishing at 5:30 p.m. in Hope at the Memorial Park.  Along the way participants will make stops at three London Drugs locations in the group’s efforts to raise funds for Canuck Place.  London Drugs customers will have the opportunity to meet members of Team Alliance as well as FIN – the Canucks mascot, who will be joining the riders for a fundraising barbecue at London Drugs in Abbotsford from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.at the West Oaks Mall.

The Ride for Hope charity bike ride was developed to raise awareness and funds for Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, a health care facility that provides specialized care for children living with life-threatening illness and support for their families throughout British Columbia. Team Alliance is a team of like-minded athletes who enjoy achieving their athletic goals by competing and racing in both road and mountain bike events.  This year Team Alliance members signing autographs at the Abbotsford London Drugs are Canuck Alumni Jeff Bandura, Terry Bingley, Dean Malkoc, Gary Nylund and Philip Von Stefenelli along with Vaughan Karpan and BC Lions Alumni Shawn Stewart.

For additional fundraising of the Ride For Hope all Lower Mainland London Drugs will be selling Truffini’s 106 gram Chocolate bars for $2.99 with proceeds going to Canuck Place Children’s Hospice.
