London Drugs thanks Airdrie for the warm welcome with donation for urgently needed items
During the three-day grand opening celebration of the new London Drugs location in Airdrie, customers donated over 18 bags of non-perishable food items to the Airdrie Food Bank. London Drugs is matching all donations made and will give an additional $750 in gift cards which will be used to purchase the urgently needed items on the Airdrie Food Bank’s Christmas Wish List. In addition, London Drugs is providing over 200 toothbrushes.
“Our Wish List includes the “must have” items in every hamper as well as “nice to have” items which we like to provide to ensure every Christmas hamper has a variety of nutritional food and essentials,” said Lori McRitchie, Executive Director of the Airdrie Food Bank.
The top ten “must have” items include:
- Peanut butter
- Canned fruit
- Canned meat (ham & chicken)
- Tuna & cracker packs (plain)
- Single servings (cup-a-soup, microwaveable pasta & canned pasta)
- Evaporated milk / milk powder
Nice to have items include:
- Toiletries (toothbrushes, soap, deodorant, etc)
- Variety packs (hamburger helper, rice-a-roni, noodles & sauce, etc.)
- Tomato paste
- Pancake syrup
- Individual oatmeal packages
- Hot chocolate
- Drink crystals
- Granola bars
- Laundry soap
- Cat food
