May is Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Month #endMS

What is MS

Canada has the highest rate of multiple sclerosis in the world. 100,000 people in Canada have MS, a chronic, often disabling disease of the central nervous system comprising the brain, spinal cord and optic nerve. It is one of the most common neurological diseases affecting young adults in Canada.

What’s happening

A new partnership with London Drugs stores across western Canada launched in May and will run through the full month of MS Awareness. Funds raised will help the MS Society provide services to people with MS and their families and fund research to find the cause and cure for this disease. London Drugs customers will have the opportunity to make a donation at the checkout counter with the entire donation going to support the MS Society.

“Community and corporate support is so important to us,” explains Tania Vrionis, President of the BC & Yukon Division of the MS Society, “this campaign helps us by raising much needed funds, but it is also enormously impactful because London Drugs staff are providing the people power and helping to raise awareness. It’s amazing, like the entire London Drugs team has joined ours for the month!”
