Focus on Father’s Day

Framed photos are a perennial favourite for Father’s Day, beautiful, personal images that communicate just how much our dads and grandfathers mean to us. This Father’s Day, we encourage you to think beyond the four sides of the frame.

The technology of photo gifts has moved beyond the pixelated T-shirts of years’ past. Today, photo gifts have the same crisp, vivid image quality you find in a quality print. While we still do T-shirts, photo gifts have moved beyond textiles to new media that create personal and lasting keepsakes.
The first step is to choose a meaningful photograph. Think of family shots, landscapes from favourite vacations, or photos of hobbies, projects, or special interests. Combining your personal images with our photo gifts will give you a world of creative possibilities. Here are some of our favourite ideas to get you started:
Desk art: Photograph a treasured piece of child’s artwork and display it in a crystal plaque. Crystal frames come in beautiful shapes—teardrop, moon, heart, and wave—to give your special artwork a three-dimensional, sculptural effect.
Gift box: Are you getting Dad a small-sized gift for Father’s Day, like a watch, a tie bar, or a gift card? Choose a photo of his smiling kids—look for one that will crop nicely to a square shape—and have us add it to the cover of a jewel box. This black glossy box measures 4.5” by 4.5” and has a soft white lining to store all of his little treasures.
Barbecue Apron: Although any special photograph will do, we love the idea of a barbecue apron with a messy-food-faced kid smiling back. The apron is 100% polyester with 3 front pockets, with an 11” by 11” image and your personalized message
Hobby mugs: For dads with lots of hobbies, make a set of mugs to celebrate his favourite pastimes. Use photos of his favourite golf courses, artistic shots of hardware for the woodworker, or beautiful blooms for the gardener. We have an assortment of mugs styles, as well as ceramic beer steins.
Tile mosaics: Our sublimation process produces stunning results: the dye is integrated into the tile material, so your image becomes part of the tile. Available in a variety of standard sizes, you can mix and match your photo tiles with store-bought tiles in a complementary colour. The creative possibilities are endless, but here are some of our favourite mosaic ideas:
  • Dad’s cars—for the car lover, prepare a tile for each beloved auto. Mount on a serving tray or use as coasters.
  • Dad’s flowers—decorate a small, square bistro table with tiles of the gardener’s most prized plants. Pre-mixed tile adhesive and grout are easily available in craft or hardware stores.
  • Grandchild mosaic—print a black and white tile photo of each grandchild as a baby. This mosaic can be a work in progress—add new family members as they are born, and search your vintage photos for shots of your dad as an infant, too. Our special tile frames show off these works of art and make them easy to hang.
