Sure-Close Indoor Foodscrap Collection Container

Separating foodscraps for collection is an extremely quick, inexpensive and yes, easy means for a municipality and its residents to achieve environmental sustainability. But do you ever wonder why food smells good enough to eat, then a day or so later in your foodscrap collection container, it can smell quite unpleasant?

That smell is the result of microbial activities taking place on the wet surface area of the foodscraps, inside a warm, airless container. To reduce smell, air needs to circulate and moisture needs to be let out, something of course a solid lid wouldn’t allow.

The Sure-Close Foodscrap Collection Container with its patented vented lid and internal air circulation channels, was designed to solve the problem with odors. By allowing water vapours to escape, microbes are denied the moisture they need to thrive. A vented lid also allows air to cool the contents of the container further reducing odors.

The Sure-Close Foodscrap Collection Container also features the most secure closure on the market, with a one handed open and close latch. The stay open lid locks at 90 degrees and the container’s wide front easily accommodates oversized plates. It’s easy to clean, dishwasher safe and odour and blemish resistant.

Quick Tips and Tricks for Clean Living

Eureka’s Quick Tips and Tricks for Clean Living

Pets can make messes quickly, so you must be ready to quickly clean them up! Here are “must-have” pet cleaning solutions that won”t break the bank: Keep a box of baking soda on hand to neutralize pet accidents. In addition to its many other uses, baking soda is an inexpensive and easy way to fight odors.

Use a plastic kiddie pool to wash down muddy paws before they come inside. A strategically-placed laminated serving tray does wonders to protect floors from sloppy eaters.

Create a Clean Home – Even with Pets

Whether they have fur, feathers or fins, pets can bring fun and laughter to any household, along with hair, odors and a multitude of other messes. Before bringing a new pet into your home, it’s important to research the cleaning responsibilities of caring for that particular type of animal.

A dog is one of the most demanding pets to own, as it requires a lot of care and attention, so be aware that time spent cleaning may increase after your furry friend arrives! The majority of dog breeds shed, so hair will likely be your biggest cleaning culprit. Be prepared to vacuum more frequently, and arm yourself with tools that will tackle that influx of hair, as well as odors and stains on carpets.

As with a dog, hair is major concern for those with feline friends. Another factor to consider is the litter box. To keep the growth of mold and bacteria, not to mention odors, to a minimum, stick to a strict cleaning schedule weekly for non-clumping litters and monthly for clumping litters.
